Energy Efficiency Rebates & Incentives for maryland
The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) is implementing an aggressive and efficiency- forward suit of grants geared toward modernizing Maryland’s grid and expanding capacity generation across the state. In addition to making these projects more affordable, they also help buildings achieve the usage standards set by the state’s Climate Solutions Now Act of 2022. To these ends, these grants fund a variety of measures, including the installation of heat pumps, EV charging equipment, solar, and more.
delmarva power & light (dpl) Energy Efficiency and Incentive Programs
prescriptive lighting
Delmarva Power & Light offers incentives covering up to 50% of the project cost for the installation of energy-efficient LED lighting. Eligible facilities types are commercial, industrial, governmental, institutional, and even multi-family electric customers with an existing facility. Newly constructed buildings are ineligible. These incentives are offered through the Empower Maryland suite.
CUSTOM PROJECTS
Delmarva Power and Light (DPL) also offers incentives for measures not included in the prescriptive programs. Customers pursuing this route must have an electrical demand greater than 100kW. New construction is eligible under this program. Custom measures must be shown to save at least 25,000 kWh / year.
Variable Frequency drives (vfds)
Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) work by matching the speed of the motors and pumps attached to industrial equipment to the work demands moment to moment, thus saving energy. Delmarva Power & Light offers incentives for the installation of new VFDs on various types of equipment. These incentives are based on the horsepower of the equipment controlled by the VFD. These incentives are offered through the Empower Maryland suite.
